I'm Poush! I am a Atmospheric and Oceanic sciences PhD candidate with a B.S. in Meteorology with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics (2019) and an M.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (2023). Throughout my own schooling experience, I've always noticed that my teachers had the largest impact on my success in various classes. The most memorable teachers were enthusiastic about what they were teaching and went the extra mile to provide additional help outside of class. When helping other students, I always remember this fact in order to make learning as enjoyable as possible. I try to structure lessons to cater to each student's individual needs because everyone learns differently.
I have multiple years of experience tutoring in an elementary mathematics, a year in a high school ESL classroom, as well as year in a Kumon Learning center teaching Math, English and Science. Speaking Bengali often allowed for greater connections for students who didn't have strong English speaking skills. Multiple degrees in atmospheric science has exposed me to many years of math as well as physics courses. During my graduate studies, I completed 8 teaching appointments in atmospheric science courses, where I held office hours, taught small lab sections and lectured to large classrooms (300+ students). I want to help the students that I work with as much as possible and welcome any suggestions or special requests. I respond quickly and am fairly easy to reach. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
