About Drew

Bio

My name is Drew and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2016. During this time I earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education in Mathematics and a coaching concentration. I currently hold a grade 6-12 teaching license in the state of Wisconsin and earned a Master's degree from Augsburg University in 2019.

My name is Drew and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2016. During this time I earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education in Mathematics and a coaching concentration. I currently hold a grade 6-12 teaching license in the state of Wisconsin and earned a Master's degree from Augsburg University in 2019.

During my time as an educator and tutor I have taught many math classes including: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Trigonometry. Additional courses that I completed in order to earn my degree include, abstract algebra, linear algebra, Calculus (I, II, III), and probability and statistics.

My experience in the classroom has allowed me to work with students of varying ability level as well as adapting lessons to fit students with IEP's. This training allows me to tailor lessons to an individual while tutoring and find the most effective means ways to help students progress.

My greatest joy while tutoring math is seeing students gain confidence in themselves and develop their critical thinking skills. These concepts, while useful in a math setting, pay great dividends in other classes and in everyday life too!

  • Rate details: Failure to cancel/reschedule 24 hours prior to a lesson or no-showing will incur 100% cost of a lesson. Lessons will be cancelled after 20 minutes of a students' absence and charged full lesson rate.

Engaging and Effective Tutor

Drew is fantastic! After reviewing many profiles for an Algebra I & II tutor, Drew stood out. He has not disappointed. Drew has a great balance of making each session productive, but also fun and engaging. For my son, an 8th grader, that was the combination I was looking for. My son was having trouble understanding some concepts and his confidence started to decrease, but after a lesson or two with Drew, my son understood the concepts with ease and applied them with confidence. We intend to work with Drew throughout the coming year when my son will be a ninth grader in Algebra II. We believe working with Drew will help make a big difference in my son's math experience in ninth grade.
