Hello! My name is Max, and I am a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Math, Statistics, and Computer Science. During my time at university, I developed a deep passion for mathematics and its theory, which I am excited to share with students. My educational background has provided me with a solid understanding of advanced math concepts, and I am eager to guide students through both foundational and complex topics in a way that fosters real understanding. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and received Dean’s List and Dean’s List with Distinction honors from 2021–2025.

In addition to my academic background, I have experience as a teacher's assistant in a high school setting, where I worked directly with high school students on interactive projects. This hands-on approach helped me understand the importance of personalized teaching and allowed me to develop methods for making challenging topics more accessible. I have tutored subjects such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.

My teaching philosophy is centered around clear, engaging explanations that prioritize deep understanding while ensuring that learning is enjoyable. I believe that math doesn't have to be intimidating, and I strive to make each lesson both fun and challenging. Interactive learning is key, where students are encouraged to ask questions and actively engage with the material. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable and heard, especially when they have concerns or worries about the material. By adjusting my methods to fit each student's individual needs and learning styles, I ensure they feel confident and supported. Whether in one-on-one tutoring or group settings, I am committed to helping my students not only master math but also enjoy the process and reach their full potential.

Real Analysis

My mathematical journey began during my undergraduate studies, where I completed a full year-long course sequence in real analysis as part of earning my bachelor's degree in mathematics. Beyond my formal coursework, I have continued to deepen my understanding of the subject through independent self-study, working through advanced material all the way up to the Generalized Stokes' Theorem. This combination of structured academic training and self-directed learning has given me both a rigorous foundation and the discipline to tackle challenging mathematical ideas on my own terms. When it comes to tutoring, I believe the most important thing I can offer a student is genuine intuition for the material, not just the ability to follow a proof, but to understand why it works and where the ideas come from. Real analysis in particular can feel intimidating because it demands a level of abstraction that many students encounter for the first time. My approach is to build that conceptual scaffolding first, so that the formal definitions and theorems feel natural rather than arbitrary. During my undergraduate years, I regularly worked through difficult problems with classmates, and I found that explaining concepts to others consistently deepened my own understanding as well. I am particularly well-suited to help students who are encountering rigorous mathematics for the first time and struggling to make the leap from computation to proof-based thinking. Whether you are working through limits, continuity, sequences, or more advanced topics like measure theory, my goal is to help you see the larger picture and build the kind of mathematical maturity that will serve you well beyond any single course.
