I am currently a PhD student in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where my research focuses on mass spectrometry, quantitative proteomics, and chemical method development. My academic background has given me strong expertise in general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry, both from advanced coursework and from applying these subjects daily in a rigorous research environment. I approach tutoring from both angles: I can help students master foundational course material, but I can also teach them how to think through chemistry with the precision and logic the subject actually requires.
I have several years of teaching and tutoring experience. Throughout undergrad, I worked as a tutor and regularly helped students in one-on-one settings with chemistry coursework and exam preparation. I also taught organic chemistry classes and labs, which gave me direct experience explaining difficult concepts to students with different learning styles and levels of preparation. That experience taught me how to break down mechanisms, synthesis, spectroscopy, and reaction logic in a way that is clear, structured, and accessible without oversimplifying the science.
My tutoring style is direct, patient, and highly tailored to the student. I focus on identifying where understanding breaks down, then rebuilding the topic step by step so the student can solve problems independently rather than just memorize patterns. I work well with high school, AP, and college students, especially those taking general chemistry or organic chemistry. My goal is not just to help students improve grades, but to help them develop a durable, confident understanding of chemistry that holds up under tests, homework, and real academic pressure.
