Hi, I'm Emily! I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with my B.S. in Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. I have 2 years experience teaching one-on-one chemistry (such as organic chemistry and general chemistry) at the college level and below. I also worked as a Docent at UW-Madison's physics museum where I led tours for students of all ages.
I teach in a way to not only foster an understanding of the material, but also to develop a broader sense of curiosity and exploration in my students. My lesson plans are tailored to each student as an individual, as everyone has a unique way of learning. My favorite part of tutoring is seeing the growth in my students both in content knowledge and as people. In addition to science, I also enjoy teaching students how to read. As a part of my reading lessons, I encourage a love and desire for reading to set up my students for success later in life. My students don't just learn the content, they learn how to be thoughtful, curious individuals.
I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about my teaching style or scheduling. I look forward to meeting you!
