I am a University of Wisconsin–Madison engineering major and graduate of a highly selective, STEM-focused residential high school. My education combined advanced math and science with rigorous humanities courses, giving me a strong foundation to tutor both technical subjects and writing. Over the past five years I have worked with students from elementary school through college, helping them succeed in math, science, and composition.
I began as a peer tutor in high school and went on to tutor at three local high schools as well as through the Exodus Tutoring Program, providing both one-on-one and small-group sessions. These experiences exposed me to a wide range of learning styles and classroom expectations, so I adapt my approach to each student. Whether we are tackling algebra, college physics, or essay structure, I focus on breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps and encouraging active problem solving.
My methods are collaborative and supportive. I start by identifying strengths and pinpointing areas for growth, then guide students toward strategies that promote independent thinking. I believe lasting success comes from understanding concepts and crafting clear explanations; skills that apply equally to solving equations and writing persuasive essays. Parents and students describe my sessions as patient, motivating, and well-organized, and I take pride in helping learners build both stronger grades and lasting confidence.
