I am an incoming Economics student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison with more than five years of experience teaching students from elementary school through early college. I have worked with more than 15 students in one-on-one and small-group settings, tutoring math, SAT preparation, Mandarin Chinese, violin, piano, and general academic skills.
My academic experience includes elementary and middle school math, Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, AP Statistics, AP Physics 1, and standardized test preparation. I earned a 1420 SAT score with a 1440 superscore. During lessons, I break difficult concepts into clear steps, identify learning gaps, and use guided practice and personalized study plans to help students improve.
I have studied piano for more than 14 years and violin for approximately five years. I teach beginner and intermediate students in technique, note reading, rhythm, music theory, and performance preparation. I am also fluent in English and Mandarin and teach Chinese through practical conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, and interactive activities.
My teaching style is patient, structured, and encouraging. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and learning style while helping them build both skill and confidence.
