I am from Ukraine, I moved to the USA in 2022 after the beginning of the Russian full-scale Invasion. I got my Masters degree in Romance Philology from Kyiv National Linguistic University in 2003 and a PhD from Kyiv National University Taras Shevchenko in 2007. I have over 20 years of experience teaching Italian and Spanish at the University level in Ukraine. I taught Italian as a second Foreign Language, Italian Grammar, Lexicology, and Phonetics. I am up-to-date on current methodology and keep improving by participating in workshops and webinars for teachers and tutors of Italian.
I have been tutoring since I was a student. I am specialized in teaching beginners. Also, I have a lot of experience in tutoring college students and adults. For over 5 years, I taught Italian online for groups of 6-15 students and one-on-one. I prepared students for College exams in Italian philology, international language exams CELI, CILS for the levels A1-B2, and Language Exams for Italian citizenship.
As a tutor, I’m convinced that studying language is fun if you teach through the culture, diversify the studying process, and use a student-oriented approach. I'm using the i-d-e-e platform, WordWall, LearningApps, Kahut, Quizlet apps, and many authentic materials in my lessons.
