Hello! My name is Iridian, and I am a dedicated educator and pre-medical student holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and an active Illinois Substitute Teaching License. Over the past three years, I have gained extensive instructional experience working with elementary students (grades K through 5) and peer learners across classroom, small-group, and one-on-one environments. My background includes serving as a classroom paraprofessional and substitute teacher in Illinois elementary schools, providing targeted small-group reading and math intervention. In addition, I have worked as a private tutor supporting young students in building foundational skills, as well as an ophthalmic technician where I gained clinical experience in patient communication and instruction.

My teaching methodology centers on patient, individualized instruction tailored to each student's unique learning needs. When tutoring elementary mathematics (K-5), I focus on breaking down concepts like addition, subtraction, place value, multiplication, and basic fractions into clear, manageable steps. For reading and English language learners (ESL), I build student confidence through structured phonics, sight word recognition, reading comprehension, and low-pressure conversational English practice. When working with introductory science and basic biology, I integrate visual aids, interactive diagrams, active recall techniques, and guided self-quizzing to help students master core scientific concepts rather than rely on rote memorization.

I offer dedicated online tutoring in elementary math (K-5), elementary reading, basic biology, general science, study skills, and English as a Second Language (ESL). I welcome parents and prospective students to reach out with any questions about my educational background, teaching experience, or tutoring approach. I look forward to connecting with you!
