Hi, I’m Hunter I am an experienced high-school science teacher with six years of classroom teaching experience, a master’s degree in STEM Education, a degree in Chemistry, and teaching endorsements in Biology and Physics.

I specialize in General Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Biology, AP Biology, Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, Physics, and AP Physics 1. I can help students strengthen foundational skills, prepare for upcoming tests, work through challenging calculations, and develop study strategies for demanding science courses.

I also completed 11 AP courses as a high-school student, including AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, and AP Physics 1. That experience helps me understand the workload, pressure, and time-management challenges AP students face.

My tutoring approach is structured but encouraging. First, we identify the specific concept or step causing difficulty. I then explain it using clear language and visual examples, model the process, and guide the student through practice before asking them to solve a problem independently. My goal is not simply to help students finish tonight’s assignment—it is to help them understand the material well enough to solve future problems confidently.

I welcome students who are struggling, students seeking AP support, and students who want to strengthen their science skills before a demanding course. Parents can also receive a brief progress summary after each session.

Let’s begin with your current course, upcoming assessment, and most important academic goal.

Approved Subjects

Biology

Biology

I hold a Biology teaching endorsement, which reflects formal training and demonstrated competency in biological sciences. I have experience helping high school students understand complex concepts by breaking them into clear, manageable steps and connecting them to real-world examples. I can support students in areas such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, anatomy and physiology, and general biology.
Calculus

Calculus

I am well qualified to tutor calculus because of my strong STEM background and extensive teaching experience. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a master’s degree in STEM Education, and endorsements in both Biology and Physics. My background in chemistry and physics has given me extensive experience working with mathematical concepts, functions, rates of change, graphs, and multi-step quantitative problem solving. With six years of high school teaching experience, I also know how to break difficult concepts into manageable steps, identify where a student is getting stuck, and explain the same idea in multiple ways until it makes sense. I focus not only on helping students get the correct answer, but also on helping them understand the reasoning behind each step so they can become more confident and independent problem solvers.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I am an experienced chemistry teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. My background combines in-depth knowledge of chemistry with professional experience teaching students, explaining complex concepts in accessible ways, and helping them build confidence in calculations, problem-solving, labs, and conceptual understanding.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

I would be a strong Organic Chemistry tutor because I have both an extensive chemistry background and years of experience helping students understand challenging STEM concepts. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry as well as a master’s degree in STEM Education, and I have six years of teaching experience. While attending college, I also worked as an Organic Chemistry tutor, giving me direct experience helping students with topics such as reaction mechanisms, nomenclature, stereochemistry, functional groups, synthesis, acids and bases, and spectroscopy. My teaching background allows me to break complex reactions into clear, manageable steps and explain concepts in multiple ways depending on how a student learns best. I focus on helping students recognize patterns and understand the reasoning behind reactions rather than simply memorizing information, so they can approach new Organic Chemistry problems with greater confidence.
Physics

Physics

I hold a Physics teaching endorsement, which reflects formal training and demonstrated competency in physical science concepts. I have experience helping high school students understand challenging topics by breaking them into clear, manageable steps and connecting them to real-world applications. I can support students in areas such as motion, forces, energy, momentum, waves, electricity, and general physics.
