Hello! My name is Lydea. I am a college student finishing up the last year of my bachelor's degree in Arts Administration and Percussion Performance. I am a student at heart, and I love sharing my passion for learning with others. My teaching philosophy is that learning should be fun, so I strive to ensure every lesson is interesting and engaging. I introduce topics by incorporating real-world examples to show the student why the subject matter is important to them before delving into the instruction. The end of each lesson includes practice problems tailored to the student's specific needs that measure student comprehension of the topic.
I was employed at a high school as an academic interventionist where I identified struggling students and developed plans to get them back on track. Here, I primarily worked with ninth and tenth grade students, both individually and in small groups, in Algebra 1 and English/Language Arts. Additionally, I have a small studio in which I provide percussion lessons and music theory practice.
