My passion for teaching comes from my continued love of learning and experience with excellent teachers. I have been very successful as a student. I graduated summa cum laude (3.95 cumulative GPA) with my B.S. in Criminal Justice and minor in Spanish from UW-Milwaukee, received Graduate Student of the year (2013) and the Chancellor's Graduate Student Award in Criminal Justice while earning my M.S. in Criminal Justice at UW-Milwaukee (4.00 cumulative GPA), and I have earned a 4.00 cumulative GPA in my doctoral studies in criminology and criminal justice at Arizona State University (two years completed).
I have experience teaching courses in-person/on-site (two semesters at UW-Milwaukee teaching an Introduction to Criminal Justice Research) and online courses (instructor for an Introduction to Criminology course and Research Methods course at Arizona State University as well as teaching assistant for graduate classes covering Prison/Jail Administration and Criminal Justice Organizations). One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is my extensive experience grading student papers and writing assignments. I have a profound understanding of proper grammar, formatting (e.g. APA citation format as well as other citation formats such as Chicago, MLA, etc.), content organization, and how to make a compelling and concise argument. Writing assignments and essays were a key component of each of the prior courses I taught as well as the courses I served as a graduate teaching assistant.
In general, I am available for tutoring everyday of the week from 6 am until 10 am and 6 pm until 10 pm. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!
