Welcome! I am Mrs. King, and I have dedicated my career to helping students discover their full potential. With over a decade of experience teaching in elementary and middle school classrooms in Wisconsin and abroad, I understand that every student learns differently. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each individual's unique learning style and pace.

My biggest specialty on Wyzant includes helping students in third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade to maximize their reading and writing potential. This includes assessing their phonics skills, fluency, accuracy, and comprehension of grade-level text, and creating a personalized plan with families that addresses gaps and extends learning. I teach a range from Tier 2/3 intervention phonics to enrichment book clubs!

I am a veteran educator with years of classroom and 1:1 experience utilizing the Sonday System to help struggling readers unlock literacy. Sonday is a highly effective and Orton-Gillingham-aligned. My lessons blend the Science of Reading with multi-sensory techniques to support students navigating dyslexia, phonological delays, and decoding challenges.

I hold teaching certifications in Elementary Education, Spanish Education, and English Education. My tutoring experiences encompass a wide range of students from preschool through adult, and spans across a wide range of subjects. Back in my high school years, I earned significant amounts of college credit through Advanced Placement Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reading courses, as well as graduating Valedictorian of my cohort. Education truly is my passion.

My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to build their confidence and foster a love of learning that will serve them throughout their lives. I look forward to working with you!

Excellent Tutor

We just started tutoring with Ms. Nicole to help our daughter, a 4th grader, improve her reading and communication skills, and so far she has been fabulous! She packs so much into each hour while keeping our daughter engaged the entire time. Our daughter is extremely shy, but Ms. Nicole connected with her from day one and has done such a great job bringing her out of her shell and getting her comfortable chatting about different books and topics. We’re so happy we found her!
