I have a Master of Education Degree, I taught Learning Disabled students for 24 years, I was a Learning Therapist for the
Northwest Reading Clinic for 15 years.
For the American Federation of Teachers’ Educational Research and Dissemination program I taught teachers from around the country effective educational research practices. I was one of the Training Manual authors of the module entitled “Instructional Strategies for Heterogeneous Classrooms”.
I have created 504 Accommodations and IEP accommodations for the past 15 years as a Learning Therapist. One of the areas I have focused on is Executive Functioning. I have found that many Learning Disabled students and students with ADHD also have Executive Functioning difficulties in many of the following areas: Inhibition, Self-Monitoring, Shifting, Emotional Control, Task Completion, Working Memory, and Planning and Organizing.
