I am a certified elementary teacher with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education, and I have been teaching since 2013. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with elementary-aged students in reading, phonics, fluency, and comprehension in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings. I have extensive experience supporting multilingual learners and students receiving special education services, which has strengthened my ability to tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs and learning styles.
My teaching approach is structured but supportive, with a strong focus on building foundational skills through clear explanations, guided practice, and repetition. I believe learning should feel encouraging rather than overwhelming, especially for students who may feel discouraged or anxious about reading. I regularly use student data and observation to adjust instruction and help each child make steady, meaningful progress while building confidence along the way.
As both an educator and a parent, I understand how important it is for children to feel safe, supported, and successful as learners. In tutoring sessions, I work to create a calm, low-stress environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks. I enjoy partnering with families to support learning beyond our sessions, and my goal is always to help students grow academically while developing confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with learning.
