I am very excited to be able to have the opportunity to share my knowledge of music with the world. I have taken private classical piano lessons for 11 years, and have studied privately in classical vocal technique for 6 years. I will be attending UW Madison this fall for music with a focus in opera.
I have decided to take a year off in between high school and college to travel. During a solo trip to Seattle and Canada, I discovered my passion for teaching and sharing music with others. During my stay in Canada, I babysat two young girls and taught them voice lessons daily. They loved it! More importantly, this helped me decide to apply for music school for the fall of 2016.
My tutoring method is basic. First, I would like to get to know the best way your child learns. For me, I am a auditory learner, and I appreciate having a teacher with me to talk and walk me through technique and theory. Then, I will specifically shape the way I teach your child based on their learning style. I like to have fun while learning, so many games and analogies will be used to create a learning environment that doesn't seem uptight, but it is loose while maintaining structure with learning capacity.
I am also available to help students study for ACT tests and can administer review sessions and share helpful advice. I am willing to teach any subject to young children, and have very good credibility through maintaining a 3.9 GPA throughout high school and achieving a 30 on my ACT, all while taking rigorous musical courses and working two jobs.
Let me know if you would like to schedule an appointment!
See you soon!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I got a 33 on my ACT English portion, I also did the writing section. I took both AP Literature and Language in high school and graduated with an A in both.
I have studied piano since the age of 7, for a total of 11 years. I have worked with three private teachers, and have performed at many venues including gigs at the Mineral Point Opera House and more. Very excited to share my knowledge!
I have attended various Toastmaster Meetings. Toastmasters is an organization dedicated to public speaking. I have also had the opportunity to win the Wisconsin State DECA Business Competition and travel all expenses paid to Anaheim, California for a week to share business plans and compete in public speaking. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you!
I have studied classical vocal music for six years. Throughout this time, I have had opportunities to travel the world and sing. I traveled to seven countries in Europe with a solo part in the Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music program, have sang at the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison through the WSMA State Honors Choir, and have attended many camps and lectures on music since middle school. I have also had the grand opportunity to sing at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen with the Taliesen Choir performing Brahm's Requiem. I am very excited to share my knowledge with you!
