15+ years of teaching experience in a small private school for ages 3-14. Mindfulness Program Director, Interim Head of School, Teacher Assistant for grades Pre K through 6, Substitute Teacher in all grades. I believe that children's mindsets matter most in making children's learning experience a success. Philosophy - Observation and attention impact learning.

I have been a longtime mindfulness educator with techniques inspired by many years of successfully teaching mindfulness and neuroscience in the PreK – 8th grade classrooms. The lessons I needed for my students didn't exist, so I created them. After many years of teaching, I was inspired to create a board game to help my students learn. It is called, The Focus Game. It is all about the brain and how to hone your focus because 'Play is the work of a child.'

I have assisted in the elementary classroom in group work since 2007. My main focus was one-on-one work, addressing students at their skill-level.

Ever since I was very young, I have loved learning new languages. In my family, we spoke 3 languages. In school we learned two more. Born and raised in Germany, I am a master of the German language. I spent over 14 years as a simultaneous interpreter and understand the challenges that come with learning a new language. I have been tutoring children in German for years.

I have taught language arts in the elementary classroom for years. I particularly like to point out to my students that English is not my first language. If I can master the language, so can they.

I enjoy connecting with my students. I understand how the brain works and love to help students find their own way of learning. I look forward to meeting you!
