Hello! My name is Anita, and I tutor students who need help writing their essays or outlining their speeches/practicing their public speaking. I know the academic experience, while rewarding, is not always easy, and for students, professor expectations for writing and giving presentations can feel confusing. So, my tutoring style focuses on a collaborative approach that helps students with outlines, developing a thesis or their arguments, and organization for their papers. Students can expect collaboration, clear communication, and support during their writing process. My goals are not only to help students feel confident in their writing and speaking within the assignment we are working on but also to build the fundamental writing skills that help them feel more confident tackling future assignments.
My experience and background with my subject come from my BA in communication from Southern New Hampshire University, and I am a graduate student from Arkansas State University. I have experience with many types of academic writing including speech outlines, research papers, lit reviews, academic reflections, and rhetorical criticism. I also have experience with public speaking and have an in-depth understanding of APA citation format, although I have experience working with both MLA and Chicago style as well.
My subjects include writing, word, and English. I can help students with their writing process, developing their thesis, improving their paper’s organization, outlining their speeches, practicing their speeches, and understanding how to properly format their papers in Word to adhere to citation standards. I can work with high school students, college students, or other adults looking for help with writing development.
