I am a professional LSAT tutor and former attorney living in Washington. After graduating with honors from The George Washington University Law School, where I was a managing editor of the law review, I practiced in the DC office of a large international law firm, where I specialized in media, privacy, and cybersecurity law.

I know from my own experience that the LSAT is more learnable than most people realize, and I've spent the last several years proving it by helping students achieve their goals via one-on-one tutoring. Studying for this test requires hard work and dedication, but that doesn't mean it has to be a nightmare. In my tutoring sessions, I try to keep the mood light and help students engage with the material as much as possible.

My 177 on the LSAT was the result of several months of thoughtful practice and painstaking review. I know what worked for me, and I know that my approach is one most students are able to benefit from.

But you need a tutor with more than just a high score. You need someone you can talk to, who will listen to what you're having trouble with and help you fix it. You need a tutor who will take your needs into account in every single session.

Are you just starting out with the LSAT and looking for someone to guide you from A to Z?
Are you studying on your own or with a name-brand test prep company and feeling stuck?
Are you pretty comfortable with the exam but seeking expert input on a few specific issues?
Are you retaking the exam after a disappointing result and wondering what to do differently?

I've helped students navigate each of these situations and many, many more. If you have questions about tutoring, please don't hesitate to contact me. If you know that one-on-one support is what you need and you're ready to get started, reach out and schedule a session with me. I look forward to hearing from you!

LSAT

A great LSAT score can change your life. My 177 took me from a bartending job and a low GPA to huge scholarship offers and a great law school. My students frequently achieve or exceed their score goals by relying on the knowledge and expertise I’ve developed over thousands of hours of LSAT tutoring. I don’t teach other subjects; I’m not a jack-of-all-trades “test prep expert.” I teach the LSAT the way it should be taught: with no gimmicks, no endless memorization of labels and categories, and no suboptimal strategies that will ultimately hold you back on test day. Let me show you the real LSAT. With patience, determination, and the right kind of practice, you’ll soon be on track to get a life-changing score of your own.

From 158 to 178-- BEST TUTOR EVER

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the incredible effect Paul had on my LSAT journey! I began preparing on my own in May 2022 with a diagnostic score of 158, with the goal of achieving a 175+. After I took the October 2022 exam under the instruction of a different tutor, I was left disappointed and questioned if I had reached my limit (simply if it was just impossible to reach any further from my original diagnostic?). After taking a break from the LSAT for a few months, I reached out to Paul in late May 2023 in a last-ditch effort to improve. I'm thrilled to report that after just three short months of working together, I achieved a score of 178 on the September 2023 exam! Paul's impact on my LSAT preparation and learning experience cannot be overstated-- there are truly countless things he did for me. Without a doubt, I would not have realized how profoundly learnable the LSAT is without his guidance. I genuinely believe that with Paul's help, anyone can attain their target score. One (of many!) things that set him apart from my previous experience with other tutors was his ability to break down complex concepts in an exceptionally simple and comprehensive manner. He took the time to understand me not just as a student but as an individual, and crafted each lesson to suit my learning style and needs. Prior to working with Paul, I dreaded the thought of taking practice exams and studying long hours for the LSAT-- however, once we started working together I gained tons of confidence, and I even began looking forward to challenging myself and accumulating more practice scores. Paul's approach completely transformed the entire experience for me! Finally, I want to express my profound gratitude to Paul for not only helping me improve my score but also for assisting me in managing my ADHD and dyslexia. I never thought I could reach this level with my LSAT, but Paul encouraged me every step of the way. His unwavering support and kindness were instrumental in my success! Again, I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking LSAT help. Paul is truly an exceptional tutor, and I can't recommend him enough!!!

Very helpful

I highly recommend Paul as an LSAT tutor! Working with him made a significant improvement in both my Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning. Paul broke down complex concepts into clear, understandable steps. He goes into thorough detail during sessions, ensuring that I understand each question.

Best LSAT Tutor

I started tutoring with Paul a couple months ago because I felt really stuck with my LSAT score and had no clue how to improve. Paul is incredible at explaining how to tackle some of the toughest questions - I was particularly struggling with parallel flaw, principle, and must be true questions, and now those are the easiest to solve! He also does a great job at explaining some of the toughest PT questions in a way that I can apply to other questions, rather than simply explaining what I did wrong. I brought my PT average up to the mid/high-170s (with a couple 180s mixed in), and that's definitely thanks to Paul!

Great first lesson!

Although I’ve only had one lesson with Paul, he is very patient and thorough with explaining each lesson. I highly recommend!

Clearly knowledgeable and devoted tutor!

Paul clearly knows the LSAT extraordinarily well, but what I most appreciate about his tutoring style is how cleverly walks through modes of thinking through specific questions, prompting the student to think about correct methods to arrive at the right answer choice. His walkthroughs have definitely shifted my approaches to challenging questions and I have been able to replicate these strategies in my practice.

Knowledgeable, patient, and dynamic tutor!

I came to Paul after completing LSAT practice sets on practice sets, with no progress. I hit a wall in my studying for the LSAT and improvement, and I honestly didn't how what to do. After just one lesson, Paul illuminated some gaps into the approach I was taking to tackle the various LSAT sections, and we are currently working on developing new strategies to promote more time efficient problem solving! I'm already seeing progress in the practice I've done post-lesson and look forward to improving even more with Paul's help.

Very patient and clear

I just had my first lesson, and I am very confident I picked the right teacher! He took the time to evaluate my thought process and methods for LR. Throughout this as well, I felt really comfortable with being able to discuss my reasonings and did not feel any pressure or judgment. He was extremely patient, clear and understanding. With this only being my first lesson, I left already feeling like I gained so much knowledge to be able to tackle LR- which gave me a lot of confidence and motivation. I am excited to continue my lessons!

So appreciative of Paul!

I would not have been able to achieve my goal on the LSAT if it was not for Paul! I was squeezed for time and needed to increase my LSAT score, which I was able to do because of Paul's lessons and words of advice. He had so many great strategies for the test itself that I was able to use, and he was also a constant source of motivation to keep pushing me towards my goal! Would 100% recommend Paul to anyone who wants to increase their LSAT score!

The Obi-Wan of LSAT prep.

Paul is an incredible tutor! When I started meeting with Paul, I had already taken the LSAT twice. I was scoring fairly well in the reading comprehension and logical reasoning sections, but the analytical reasoning portion seemed absolutely unlearnable to me. I had tried several LSAT prep books and some online courses, but my score stayed the same. Paul immediately identified the issues in my approach to this section and clearly explained the correct strategy. He broke this strategy into a series of steps, which helped me to understand the kind of reasoning necessary for success in this section. He was also consistently kind, patient, and supportive. He took the time to encourage me when I felt frustrated, and I could tell that he was genuinely invested in my success. I had previously viewed the material as absolutely incomprehensible, and I felt pretty hopeless about my ability to improve. Paul helped me to regain faith in my ability to do well on this test. With his help, I was able to raise my score by nine points. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Lessons resulted in a 5-point jump

I came to Paul after months of hitting a wall with LSAT prep. I didn't think I could improve on the LSAT, but after a few lessons with Paul I noticed a significant difference in how I was approaching questions and reviewing them after prep tests. He explains things in a no-nonsense way, which honestly makes techniques straight-forward to internalize and practice. I took the LSAT for the 3rd time after a month of tutoring and received a score 5 points higher than my previous score, which has put me in the range for a majority of my target schools. It's definitely worth your time and money to invest in even a few lessons with Paul! I can't recommend it enough!
