I bring strong academic preparation and hands-on tutoring experience to my work with students. I was a long-term student at a Kumon Math and Reading Center, a tutoring program serving students from kindergarten through high school, and I completed both the math and reading programs, which progressed through advanced material including calculus-level math and high-level reading comprehension. This experience gave me a deep understanding of Kumon’s mastery-based approach and shaped the way I explain concepts clearly, patiently, and encouragingly. I am currently a high school student who has completed rigorous coursework, including AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Biology, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, AP Language and Composition, AP Seminar, and AP Research, and many others.
In addition to being a Kumon student, I currently work as a math and reading tutor at Kumon, primarily supporting K–12 students in a learning center environment. I work closely with students one-on-one, guiding them through individualized worksheets, helping them learn from mistakes, and breaking down concepts when they feel stuck or discouraged. Having gone through the same program myself, I place a strong emphasis on building confidence and helping students understand not just the correct answer, but the reasoning behind it. Over time, I have developed a flexible tutoring style that adapts to different learning speeds and needs.
Beyond academics, I am also experienced and happy to teach basic to intermediate ballet to students who are new to dance, looking to improve technique, or feeling stuck in their progress. I focus on strong fundamentals, proper form, and creating a supportive learning environment. I also have experience in English-style horseback riding (hunt seat), which has strengthened my discipline, patience, and communication skills. Overall, my background allows me to support students academically and creatively while helping them build confidence and momentum in their learning.
