My BA in English and Theater is from Coe College, and I hold a MA in English, focused on Rhetoric and the Teaching of Writing, from Colorado University Denver. This school year is my second year volunteer-tutoring with the Literary Arts College Essay Exchange in Portland, Oregon. Together, we work to improve student college admissions essays.
Services include individual writing tutoring; individual study skills tutoring; and individual college admissions essay coaching. I accept secondary students, college students, and adults. I gladly focus on each student’s performance and their journey toward becoming a more authentic learner.
I aim for proof of students understanding a subject and making a sustainable change toward understanding its relevance in today’s world. When students pursue both actions simultaneously, they take more responsibility for reaching their goals and their potential. I work to help students improve their writing, thinking, and study skills and guide them to find the sweet spot between expressing themselves creatively and expressing themselves academically.
