I completed my Master’s studies in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology with a 3.7 GPA and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington with a 3.87 GPA. During my time at Georgia Tech, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant for Numerical Analysis & Algorithms and spent years tutoring students in mathematics, physics, and engineering ranging from high school coursework to graduate-level topics. Across more than 8 years of tutoring experience—including work through Varsity Tutors, volunteer tutoring, and private instruction—I’ve had the opportunity to help students with a wide variety of learning styles, academic backgrounds, and goals.
My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that every student learns differently, and that understanding the individual behind the student is just as important as understanding the material itself. I take time to learn about each student’s interests, strengths, and thought processes so I can explain concepts in ways that feel intuitive and personally meaningful to them. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students through the reasoning process by asking questions that help them develop problem-solving skills and confidence independently. My goal is not just to help students finish homework or pass exams, but to help them truly understand the “why” behind concepts so they can apply that knowledge long after our sessions end. There’s nothing more rewarding to me than seeing a student go from frustrated or intimidated by math and science to genuinely excited and confident in their abilities, and that moment of understanding is what continues to drive my passion for teaching.
