I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Physics, with a minor in Math from Portland State University, graduating in 2001. During my college time I volunteered in the college resource center to help other students with Math and Physics.

I am a guide to help the student find the answer, while providing hints along the way. I know from personal experience not every student learns the same, and I try to employ whatever mechanism best suits the student. If one way of explaining isn't clear to the student, I attempt another until we find one that works.
Since graduating college, I have worked as a hardware and software QA Engineer for various companies, spanning biomedical, consulting, and at Microsoft. I current work as a software QA engineer for a hardware company. I have a high attention to detail, which is key for doing well in Math and Science classes.
I have been utilizing C# for over 20 years, and have worked at Microsoft amongst other companies in both test and development.
At home I find enjoyment in challenges that utilize my physics and math background, be it figuring out how much dirt is needed for my raised garden to guessing the value of my change in my change jar.
I am married to a teacher and we often talk about learning styles and how to best communicate concepts to students. My goal is to help relieve the pressure of the subject, make it a fun process of learning, and ultimately help instill enjoyment out of solving challenging problems.
