I am comfortable working with students from beginner up to class A. I am semi-retired and actively teach chess at the Tacoma Chess Club. I originated our lecture program which is a summer program.

GREAT instructor!
Tom is an AMAZING chess instructor for my 8-year old daughter! She learned SO much just out of a single lesson and is already showing improvements in her matches at her school chess club. She even beat her older brother TWICE the other night, which never happens, by applying the lesson instructions that Tom guided her on. HIGHLY recommend Tom as a chess coach!
