Hello! My name is Chase, and I am a current master's graduate student working towards an educational specialist degree in School Psychology. I graduated with dual degrees in Psychology and Music Education - Instrumental. I started college wanting to pursue a Music Education degree but quickly found a love for psychology during my third year. I found learning about our psychological processes to be incredibly fascinating and helpful in my teaching, and then pivoted into child development, human behavior, clinical psychology, and more.

During my undergraduate experience, my professors focused heavily on providing us chances to connect the content to real world experiences, rather than focusing on content alone. In my teaching experiences, my goal has always been to ensure that students have a choice that enables them to control a piece of their learning and therefore be actively involved in the process. In doing so, by humanizing my students, I find that I not only teach them the necessary knowledge to be successful in whatever topic they desire, but it lets the environment by more fun and engaging. I have experience teaching various topics, such as music, elementary reading and math, and have tutored both peers in college and adults in topics of psychology, behaviorism, and special education topics. Having taken many high-level AP courses in high school (math, English, social studies, and more) and college level calculus, psychology, English, and more, coupled with my teaching experience, I am confident that my skills will enable me to teach students of all ability levels to help them succeed.

It is always my goal to benefit each student I work with by catering my teaching style to them individually. I strive to modify my teaching style immediately and spontaneously to ensure that each student gets what they need. I am easy to reach and will do my best to respond as quickly as possible! Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!

Drums

I have been playing percussion since I was in the 4th grade, where I started my own private lessons. I have a vast experience across essentially all drumming disciplines, as I've played drum set since 5th grade (mainly jazz, funk, rock), was on the drumline from 6th grade through the end of college, including section leader in high school and college and 3 years of drum corps experience, and have played concert percussion for professional groups such as brass band, college-level wind ensemble and symphony orchestra. I love teacher and have taught both a middle school and high school drumline for multiple years, as well as taught private lessons to two students during COVID. I love teaching and am always looking to help advance the skills of young or old individuals!
