I have been serving as a mentor, teacher, and tutor to undergraduates and high schoolers for over 10 years, five of which were spent as a Premium tier tutor at one of the top tutoring companies in the United States. I graduated Cum Laude with Honors from Washington State University with a dual degree in Microbiology and Genetics & Cell Biology, receiving a "Pass with Distinction" on my undergraduate Honors thesis. Before starting graduate school, I published two research articles and spent six years working in biomedical labs. I received a Master of Science degree in Microbiology & Immunology for the University of Michigan before ultimately leaving research to pursue other professional experiences.
After working with undergraduates and high schoolers since 2007, I get the kinds of pressures the modern student is under—personally and professionally. I remember what it was like to be a stressed, overscheduled, and overcommitted high school who had little time for a life.
I’m passionate about mentoring multi-passionate, high-achieving students who tend to be high-stress. One of my personal goals as a tutor is to help these students navigate and overcome perfectionism, burnout, and fear of failure, which can cripple high-achieving students when it comes to testing, academics, and college apps.
These students are juggling music, sports, their expectations, and those of others—just like I did— and the overwhelm can be debilitating. I want nothing more than to support them and elevate their ability to excel in all their passions and goals while minimizing stress and being teenagers.
I excel in tutoring high-achieving students with the ACT, SAT, math through Calculus, and science through graduate-level biology courses. To me, learning is a process of personal growth and self-awareness. I care as much about teaching my students as I do growing their confidence, self-belief, and resilience. In short, my goal is to help my students achieve more with less burnout.
