How have I prepared? I’ve worked with students like you over the past 6 years through online tutoring using Chegg and other platforms. I have focused on students expanding their knowledge of Accounting, Essentials of Investments, and Corporate Finance. I have also tutored CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) candidates. In person, I’ve worked with college and high school students at the Texas A&M International University, Montgomery County Public Schools, and the University of Oregon.

My undergraduate degree is in Business Administration with a focus on Finance. My Master’s degree is in Public Policy with a concentration on Economic Analysis. I passed Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst program and will sit for Level III next year.

As for you, a business school student or candidate in the CFA program, it is important to develop a solid understanding of the time value of money, discounted cash flow applications, stock (equity) valuation techniques, bond (fixed income) valuation, along with options, futures and swaps. Further, to be successful as a business owner, you need an understanding of the cost of production to set the prices of your products. Concepts such as job order costing, process costing, cost-volume-profit relationships and activity-based costing are the cornerstone of managerial skills.

Our first reviews will focus on the accounting equation, financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, journal entry and adjusting entries. I will use real life situations to explain and teach finance and financial accounting concepts. Concepts in financial accounting and finance will build up overtime.
