Hi there, my name is Chelsea and I have nearly a decade of experience tutoring students of all ages in many fields! I'm very passionate about helping my students excel in their subjects and I take great pride in guiding them toward achieving their goals, whatever they may be.
I have tutored and instructed in several capacities, both virtually and in person. In person, I spent several years at my local YMCA teaching classes such as Musical Theatre, Intro to Drama, Basics of Drawing, Beginners Ballet and Tap, and several other humanities related subjects. These classes were mainly taught to upper elementary grade students, and I look back on my time with them so fondly. My qualifications for these classes in particular stem from decades of involvement in theatre, both at the community and collegiate level.
Virtually, I tutored groups of middle school aged students in the subject of English Literature. We enjoyed reading stories of all kinds together and discussing themes, narrative structures, and character development, among many other topics. I have also spent many years writing and editing in both professional and collegiate capacities. I have a Bachelor's in English Literature with a Secondary Education Endorsement, as well as a Master's in Public Affairs. You can depend on me to share my love of literature while also having the technical skills required for more rigorous goals.
Finally, I spent many years as an employment specialist, guiding both teens and adults through the process of finding fulfilling jobs. In these positions, I taught students and clients how to tailor resumes and cover letters. I also taught interview prep and hosted many interviewing events which lead to a 90+% success in hiring for my clients!
