About Sam

I have been teaching percussion lessons for over 20 years and I enjoy teaching all styles of percussion. I also enjoy working with all ages. I offer lessons on snare drum, drum set, mallets, hand drums and beginning piano. I have worked with many local high schools and I served 20 years with the Washington Air National Guard Band at Fairchild Air Force Base.
I perform locally as a freelance percussionist and solo Marimba player. I have 2 teaching studios in Spokane. One is in the Vally and the other is on the North side of Spokane at the "Y". The lessons are in a relaxed setting which I feel allows your child the ability to learn at their own pace.

I have a music performance degree form Eastern Washington University (1992). I have owned and operated my own studio for over 20 years.

Please feel free to contact me for a free introductory lessons!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Drums

I received my college degree from E. W. U in 1992 and I have 25 years experience teaching and performing. I have 2 nice teaching studios with waiting rooms and I love working with children of all ages.

Piano

I enjoying teaching beginning piano lessons and since receiving my degree in Music in 1992 I have helped hundreds of children and adults learn to play! I believe in a relaxed setting where you are free to achieve your musical goals.
