I am a very resourceful, dynamic, creative, and dedicated teacher. Furthermore, I am organized & dependable, and have a unique ability to connect with my students. I always try to maintain a positive attitude, which translates into a classroom of learning and respect. All of these personal qualities were exemplified when I received the award of "Super Teacher" of the year from the staff and the students in the Department of Applied English. Such an award, not only underpins my charisma, professional commitment, and inherent ability as a communicator, but also my immense pedagogical contribution to the university.
I have gained invaluable experience teaching English in Asia (Taiwan & Japan) for 15 years. In addition, my past training and experience working with "at-risk" youths in New Mexico has given me the patience and insight to help all of my students, and overcome cultural barriers. I have taught a broad range of English courses and content courses for career training. The maximum number of students always signed up for elective courses in Journalism, and contemporary music & lyrics, a course on American culture. I also advised students writing their senior theses, and served as a faculty coordinator for numerous extracurricular activities and clubs, such as the student newspaper & yearbook.
