I am a dedicated math tutor with over 10 years of experience working with students from middle school through college, along with five years of in-classroom experience as a substitute math teacher. I hold multiple bachelor’s degrees in business, communications, journalism, and liberal arts, as well as an MBA in International Business from Washington State University. I specialize in middle school, high school, and college-level math, including AP Calculus, as well as SAT and ACT test preparation. My approach is student-centered, focusing on helping students understand the “why” so they build confidence and independence, not just memorize steps.
I have worked with a wide range of students, from those needing help with foundational skills to high-achieving students looking to get ahead. I have consistently helped students improve their SAT and ACT scores and have worked with many students long-term, some for over five years. One student I began tutoring in 7th grade is now a senior with straight A’s and multiple university acceptances. I also helped a student pass a college math placement exam after three unsuccessful attempts, allowing her to enroll and continue into her freshman year, where I continued tutoring her. Many of my students come through referrals, reflecting the trust and results I strive to build.
My first session focuses on introductions, goal-setting, and creating a clear plan for success. Ongoing sessions include reviewing prior material, addressing challenges, and staying aligned with student goals. I am available for questions between sessions and regularly collaborate with parents and teachers to ensure consistent support. I encourage consistent scheduling to build strong routines and offer flexibility with up to three short-notice cancellations or no-shows at no charge.
