Dylan has a rich background in writing and teaching. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and French language and literature, followed by a master’s degree in English Studies with a specialization in Writing Pedagogy. He later earned a PhD in Language and Rhetoric from the University of Washington in Seattle. For nearly 20 years, Dylan has studied and taught writing, focusing on tailored support for writers of all ages and skill levels to help them develop their writing and achieve their goals. For about a decade, he has also helped students prepare for standardized tests, guiding many past score plateaus.
In both classroom and private tutoring settings, Dylan values the diverse ways people approach writing and learning. He believes effective writing instruction begins by understanding the unique challenges each student or client faces. Once those challenges are clear, he designs individualized lessons and support to help them succeed.
Dylan has taught many university-level writing courses and has tutored students from grade school through college. His tutoring includes homework help, revision guidance, and comprehensive Writing and Language Arts instruction for homeschoolers. Alongside Writing and Language Arts, Dylan provides standardized test prep support. He has led SAT camps and worked individually with students preparing for exams such as AP, IB, SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE. If you’re seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and effective tutor, Dylan is an outstanding choice.
