Passionate and Positive Math Tutor with 7 Yrs Teaching Experience

Hello! Education has been a lifelong love of mine. Playing "school" with my siblings as a child was a favorite pastime! I graduated as valedictorian of my class in high school, scoring 5's on both the AP Calculus and AP Physics exams. l majored in mathematics and secondary education at Benedictine College and graduated summa cum laude in 2018.

Since graduating, I have taught middle school math at small, private schools for 6 years, and have been a substitute teacher for grades K-8 for one year. In addition to middle school math, I have taught intervention/learning support classes, in which I provided individualized homework help (for all subjects) and taught organizational and study skills to students. During my third year of teaching, I was awarded the Rotary Educator of the Year award for my school.

I also have experience tutoring independently and at Mathnasium. At Mathnasium, I worked with students of all ages (grades K-12) and ability levels. I have had much success with my students by using the Mathnasium teaching constructs and I continue to use these teaching methods in my math lessons.

I firmly believe that every child can learn, and that every child learns differently. This is why one-on-one tutoring can be so beneficial! By coming to me for individualized help, my students often made great progress. Many of my students shared that they appreciated my patience, encouragement and positive attitude. I strive to bring that same attitude to every student, in every session.

While I specialize in middle school math and Algebra 1, I have experience providing help with elementary and high school math as well. I am also happy to provide homework help in other subjects - let me know what your particular situation is!
