Hi! My name is Tamarra. I have been a teacher for 9 years. I have taught Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. I am currently at kindergarten teacher. I love teaching and love working with kids! My passion is seeing kids grow as learners, over come obstacles they once found challenging, and gaining confidence in themselves. I love to laugh and try to make learning fun with hands on activities, songs, and crafts. I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was little so I am living out my dream! I want kids to know and see that having a tutor doesn’t mean you are struggling with something. It means you want to get better at something. We all grow at our own pace and can over come any mountain we want as long as we have a positive attitude that we can do anything.

I have experience teaching Bridges curriculum and Engage New York Curriculum. I have 9 years experience teaching K-2nd grade math.

I have experience with Journeys reading program. I have experience writing summaries/opinion/informative/narratives for 1st and 2nd grade. I have experience teaching PreK and Kindergarten how to identify letters, sounds, sight words, beginning reading, beginning stages of writing. I can get any Kindergartener to write at a first grade writing level. I run small groups and individual groups showing different reading strategies to develop strong reading skills.

I can teach Handwriting Without Tears curriculum. I can help kids remember how to write the letters and form the letters correctly with songs and chants. This helps kids not reverse letters and develop excellent penmanship.
