Hi! I'm Julian, a software engineer working for Twitch and former engineer at Microsoft. I'm originally from Australia, and am based out of West Seattle.

I firmly believe in the importance of building good software design and code implementation habits from day one as a computer science student, and love the collaborative experience of working with students to understand complex and abstract problems, as well as contextualise theory into practice to prepare students for the industry.

I look forward to working with you (or your child/aspiring software engineer) as an educator, mentor, and coach for your future goals in school and beyond! :)

I have two bachelor's degrees in Computer Science (Distinction) and Econometrics (Distinction), over three years of industry experience as a software engineer, and over two years of academic experience as a TA and private tutor for mathematics, microeconomics, and statistics.

I have programmed in C, C#, Golang, Python, and Java throughout my academic and industrial experience, but am comfortable teaching other "back-end" languages similar to the above, such as C++. I also have data engineering and analysis experience with SQL and R.

Although I am working full-time, I am flexible with scheduling for most evenings and weekends. I can also conduct in-person lessons (I'm fully vaccinated for COVID!) or online if preferred.
