My experience and skill in French and Italian languages go beyond the boundaries of simply having a degree and knowing how to fluently speak as a native. I have actually 'lived' these languages as they are spoken, felt, heard, and understood.

My approach in teaching a language is geared to my students' personal learning style. So, the method in which you are taught is tailored to the goals you have in learning the language. Also, the lessons are structured in an environment most comfortable to you, using ways for you to naturally grasp language concepts while keeping your interest and curiosity alive. I believe that it is essential to experience the language, as if it were a thing that could be held in the hands and observed. I motivate the student to strive for language transparency: seeing how the language actually is and supposed to be communicated, spoken, felt, heard, and understood, not a translation equivalent.

I have real life experience in both French and Italian. I lived in Lille, France for a year. Before this time, I lived among French international exchange students during my college years at University of Oklahoma. I graduated with a degree in French (Bachelors of Arts). My experience in Italian was in New York City, NY at a Franco-Italian realty company where I was able to use the language in a practical setting, gaining further fluency.

I help my students to understand and apply language concepts, which is different from simply 'parroting' or only memorizing. I also strive to help my students understand their personal learning style in order to further their studies on their own. Along with what my students may be assigned to study in a classroom by a teacher, I supplement the information with a personal touch that is beneficial to the individual as well.
