I currently substitute teach for Lake Washington School district in WA. I have a BA from The University of Washington, Seattle in French and Linguistics (2008). I have a Masters of Ed from UW (2011). I completed a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University in 2022. I possess a Washington K-12 teacher certificate with endorsement in French, Spanish and English Language Learners (ELL).

My teaching journey began at the University of Washington teaching French from 2010-11. There, I used Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). I then taught English in China to K-12 students from 2012-18 using CLT. Additionally, I used Total Physical Response (TPR), a movement-based interactive approach.

In the U.S. from 2018-19, I tutored youth and adults, in groups and one-on-one, for Varsity Tutors. I provided instruction in French, Spanish, English, social studies and math. Concurrently, I served as an assistant at French Immersion School of Washington, where I gained familiarity with comprehensible input (CI).

In 2019, I became a paraeducator with Highline School District. I ran small reading groups where I improved students' phonemic awareness and literacy strategies. I became a French teacher for Highline District in 2020, employing Organic World Language (OWL). OWL encourages near-total immersion, games, movement and comprehensible input. I used OWL and other CI methods when I taught middle school Spanish for Highline in 2020, middle school Spanish and ELLs in Renton School District in 2022, high school Spanish in Issaquah in 2023, and middle school Spanish in Lake Washington School District from 2023-25.
