My name is Tuan! I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from the University of Washington with a 3.9 GPA. I am a first-year medical student at the University of Washington's School of Medicine. Throughout my medical journey, I realized that medicine and teaching go hand in hand. Every day in the clinic, I break down complex medical topics into simple, understandable terms to my patients, and this is where I discovered my passion for teaching.
I have over three years of teaching experience across different fields. Over the past couple of years, I have volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club to help tutor elementary students in math and English. I even spent a summer in rural towns in Nicaragua hosting after-school programs to tutor children in those communities. For the past year, I have been tutoring my friends to pass the Medical College Admission Test, on which I scored in the 90th percentile.
Through these experiences, I have worked with people of all ages. The most important thing that I have learned is the skill of adaptability, as everyone learns at their own pace. It is the tutor's job to create personalized plans and approaches for each student, and that is the approach I bring to my teaching. It truly brings me joy to be able to help and see students succeed.
I respond quickly and am happy to answer any questions before you book. Reach out if you or your student is struggling with something specific or if you just want to see if we are a good fit.
