Elementary Tutor for Distance Learning!

Hi there! My name is Shayla, and I hope to be your child's future tutor. I am currently working as a lead teacher in a childcare setting, and facilitate the distance learning of about ten students each day. I am currently in school to become an elementary school teacher. I have worked one on one with many students to help them connect the dots between what they are learning in distance learning and what their assignments are. There are some things that distance learning just can't do, and I'm here to help!

Elementary math is my specialty, I enjoy working with students to help them understand the basics of math, which sets them up for success as they go through life! I have completed an Elementary Math college course, which taught me the fundamentals of common core, as well as this "new math" that has been the subject of confusion for many.

Science for children is exciting, and I want to instill that mindset into children! In 2018, I was a STEAM Fair judge for an elementary school in the Puyallup School District, and it was such a fun experience to help promote a love for science. I am familiar with the common science curriculum, so I can help your student navigate the subject.

I have worked with children for over two years helping them be successful in school, and one of the main focuses for elementary school in our area is language arts/ELA. Language is the foundation of learning, and I want to help your student.
