I am a high school mathematics teacher with more than a decade of experience teaching and supporting students in mathematics. I currently teach Geometry and have previously taught AP Statistics, along with other high school mathematics courses. I hold a bachelor's degree in Secondary Math Education and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction while completing coursework toward educational leadership and principal certification. My professional experience includes teaching students with a wide range of academic abilities, learning needs, and levels of confidence in mathematics.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students understand the reasoning behind the mathematics rather than simply memorizing procedures or completing assignments. I break complex concepts into manageable steps, identify gaps in foundational understanding, and use multiple explanations and examples until the material makes sense to the individual student. I have extensive experience teaching both large classroom groups and working individually with students who need additional support, targeted instruction, or enrichment. I regularly help students with Geometry, Algebra, statistics, and AP Statistics, and I am particularly comfortable helping students develop problem-solving skills and confidence with challenging concepts.

As an experienced classroom teacher, I understand that students learn in different ways and that a successful tutoring session needs to be adapted to the individual student. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and working through difficult problems. I believe effective tutoring should not only help students improve their immediate performance but also help them become more independent and confident learners.
