Hello! My name is Jocelyn, and I am a graduate teaching assistant currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology. I earned a B.S. in Economics with a specialization in business forecasting, as well as an M.S. in Experimental Psychology, both from Central Washington University.
Through my work as a graduate teaching assistant, I have extensive experience teaching and grading at the undergraduate level. I regularly support students in understanding course material, completing assignments, and preparing for exams. My experience includes both classroom instruction and one-on-one academic support, primarily with college-aged students in statistics and other subjects within psychology.
I specialize in tutoring statistics, economics, psychology, and academic writing. I am particularly comfortable helping with data analysis, research methods, and writing assignments such as research papers and methods sections. My background in both economics and experimental psychology allows me to approach problems from both a quantitative and conceptual perspective.
My tutoring approach focuses on clarity and efficiency. I excel at breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps. I want to help students build confidence in their understanding and guide them through problems rather than simply providing answers. I want to tailor each session to the student’s needs, whether that’s reviewing concepts, working through assignments step-by-step, or preparing for exams.
I would primarily like to work with high school and college students. I will strive to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material. My goal is not only to help students complete their immediate assignments, but also to improve their overall understanding and academic performance.
