SAT Reading

I'm a writing coach and test prep tutor with 8+ years of experience empowering students to succeed in SAT Reading and Writing. I especially enjoy helping students strengthen their understanding of SAT grammar. Past students have raised their Reading Writing scores significantly after only a few sessions with me. During our introductory lesson, I will identify the specific SAT content domains (such as Information & Ideas, Standard English Conventions, etc.) with which you're struggling. I will then tailor our future lessons to target those areas of weakness. With my guidance, you'll develop the time-saving strategies necessary to tackling each question. I'll also build your confidence by demystifying the SAT. We'll look at how the test-takers structure questions to intentionally confuse you and how you can avoid falling for their tricks!

An Exceptional and Supportive College Essay Tutor

Amelia has been an invaluable tutor, helping my son with his college essays. He had no idea where to start, but Amelia simplified the process, guided him through brainstorming, and provided clear, honest feedback that helped him keep improving. Her creative insight and patient guidance truly shine through in the beautifully written essays. What once had my son feeling stressed and frustrated soon became an enjoyable process of expressing his unique self on paper. Amelia is very pleasant, easy to work with, and goes above and beyond to support her students. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking inspiration, clarity, and confidence in their writing!

Relatable Approach - Clarified Experiences Thoroughly!

We initially missed a great opportunity for a college essay. Although we first sought help to simply polish it, we were instead guided toward a more personalized approach—one that brings depth, relatability, and emotional sensitivity to the content. We’re truly grateful for the connection. It’s been an honor to work with Amelia!

Game changer - don't miss an opportunity to work with Amelia!!!

Working with Amelia has been an absolute game-changer in preparing for the SAT reading section. Her teaching style is both engaging and effective, breaking down complex passages and questions into manageable, understandable parts. She has a remarkable ability to tailor her approach to fit the student's learning style, making each session feel personalized and productive. One of the things we appreciated the most is her patience. She is calm, encouraging, and willing to explain things in different ways until they clicked. Her flexibility is another standout quality. She was incredibly accommodating with scheduling, even adjusting sessions around my daughter’s busy school and extracurricular calendar. Whether it was a last-minute review or a weekend session, she made it work without hesitation. Overall, Amelia is not just a tutor—she’s a mentor and a cheerleader. Her support and expertise have made a huge difference in my daughter’s confidence. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to boost their SAT reading score with a tutor who truly cares and delivers results.
