I am passionate about helping students succeed in Science and Math, and I bring a strong educational background and diverse teaching experience to my tutoring. I hold a Master of Science in Physics from UC San Diego, where I spent three years as a teaching assistant for college-level Astrophysics courses. My undergraduate education was completed at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and worked as a research assistant in Computational Cosmology for two years. These experiences gave me a solid foundation in both the theory and practice of scientific problem-solving, as well as valuable insight into how students learn complex material.
From 2014-2021, I taught Math and Science in-person to middle and high school students, tailoring my approach to meet the needs of diverse learners. And since 2020 I have also tutored online in STEM subjects and Engineering, supporting students from secondary school through college. I am well-versed in preparation for standardized tests such as the AP, ACT, SAT, Regents, GRE, GED, as well as professional exams like the FE and PE. My teaching methods are interactive and engaging, making use of digital platforms and tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, ClassDojo, Edmodo, Kahoot, and PhET simulations to create a dynamic learning environment. I also contributed as a Physics question writer for Study.com, which further honed my ability to break down complex concepts into clear, understandable lessons.
What truly drives me is helping students overcome challenges, whether they are struggling with foundational concepts or facing learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia. My professional development in these areas, combined with personal experience, allows me to adapt my teaching style to each student’s unique needs. My goal is always to build confidence, foster curiosity, and improve academic achievement. I look forward to the opportunity to support your learners and be part of their educational journey.
