I know what it's like to feel lost in your academics and not know how to improve or if it's even worth it. I never received tutoring during my education, and now that I've become a tutor myself, I'm realizing how much I would have benefitted from it. Throughout the last couple of years, not much has been more gratifying than seeing my students light up when they finally understand something that had not been clicking for them and knowing that I was a part of the process that led them there.
I have always enjoyed math, and math is primarily what I have been tutoring recently, but I believe that I can help many people with their math homework/questions because of how much experience I have in it myself. I have always done very well in my math (and math-based science) courses, and I have tutored it quite significantly. Not every approach works for everyone, so I have a lot of different tools in tutoring arsenal!
Throughout my M.A. in Philosophy, I spent each semester as a GTA and got to work closely with students, lead discussion sections, and grade their work. Not only do I have a good idea of what professors want their students to achieve, I also believe that I can break that process down and explain it to students in a way that makes the seemingly ambiguous field of philosophy much more manageable.
