Students looking for a tutor show how much they value their education. I love those students. After 30 years of teaching, 18 years of high school English and 11 teaching college writing, I love being in the classroom, but I also love tutoring. Tutoring allows me to individualize lessons to meet students' needs and goals. I've tutored immigrants from all over the world. I have also tutored students who were accepted into medical school at the University of Colorado as well as Harvard University. For ten years I was an editor in a corporate setting, and I've worked privately with authors who have published in a variety of genres. What a pleasure it is to help a student master the writing skills necessary to advance through their academic career.

I specialize in college level writing and have taught basic composition 1 and 2. I figure out my students' problem areas and points of concern, and then I proceed to help them build their basic level of writing skills using their assigned homework, or lessons I've developed specifically for them. My intent is to support and build students where they are by giving regular feedback.

After a free consultation, I will cover with the student grammar, proofreading, vocabulary, essay design, audience and purpose, MLA formatting, and a variety of genres including narrative, profile, concept, common ground, and argument.

I prefer to meet online or in a library, and I am willing to meet at other chosen locations outside the home, but I will consider special cases. I am available throughout the week and am flexible with my hours, however, I do have a 4-hour cancellation policy.
