My test-prep methods deliver results through three core pillars:

Data-driven customization: A systematic approach tracks exactly which question types a student misses and why. Every lesson automatically adapts to target both the specifics of the missed questions and any underlying misconceptions.

Holistic test strategy: I provide proprietary strategies addressing everything from severe test anxiety to optimal test-day nutrition.

Objective analysis: Mine is the only program that systematically breaks the mindset leading students to choose "trap" answers. Students often miss questions because they subjectively interpret the reading passages instead of focusing on the actual wording of the text; test makers write incorrect answers to appeal to these interpretations. I train students to make rapid, accurate choices based strictly on what they can literally prove, and avoid the traps.

American History

American History

American history has long been a passion of mine. Often, schools want students to demonstrate, through tests and essays, not only that they can remember facts, but that they understand the concepts and why they are important. I can help you or your child with both. I can invent clever mnemonic devices that help you memorize a lot of information in a short amount of time. Furthermore, I can use real life examples that are relevant to you or your child's interests to illustrate historical concepts in an understandable and (hopefully) enjoyable way.
College Counseling

College Counseling

For over 10 years, I have helped students prepare for interviews using a unique approach that adds realism for the student. I often am able to predict which questions schools will ask. In addition, I show the student how to do the research they need to impress their target schools. For essays, I'm able to help students transform their writing in an ethical way that still has the student do their own writing. My students have been accepted at Andover, Exeter, Milton, Choate, Lakeside, Groton, and Loomis Chaffee.
European History

GRE

GRE

I've been teaching test prep for over ten years and the GRE was what led me to develop my own proprietary strategies to help my students on the GRE and other standardized tests. Using the method that I developed helped me to increase my own score over 400 points (back when it was on the old scale), and helped many of my students achieve similar results. Scores: Verbal 168/170 (98th percentile) Writing 5/6 (93rd percentile)
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

For over 10 years, I have helped students prepare for interviews using a unique approach that adds realism for the student. I often am able to predict which questions schools will ask. In addition, I show students how to do the research they need to impress their target schools to prepare them for the one defining interview question that almost every school will ask. My approach also helps students learn to think on their feet while also helping them find their voice, so they give truly authentic answers.
ISEE

ISEE

I possess years of experience teaching the ISEE. Most of this was earned in Beijing, where I managed the test prep department of a bilingual school and training center. Developing my own test-taking strategies beyond the traditional “tips and tricks,” some of them derived from when I scored in the 98th percentile on the GRE, I helped many students overcome their difficulties and achieve success on the ISEE. This expertise is especially important since there are not many teachers who have ISEE experience, and the test itself does not have as much officially-produced material as many of the other standardized tests that I teach.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

For over 10 years, I have helped clients write essays that are truly student written yet reflect the care and input from someone who takes the time to learn who your child. Instead of giving students cookie-cutter answers that tell schools what they want to hear, I help your student express not only their passions but also why they chose that school as the place to grow. I have a perfect record of helping students get their target scores and helping students grow into better, more thoughtful writers. My students have been accepted at Andover, Exeter, Milton, Choate, Lakeside, Groton, and Loomis Chaffee.

Aaron is my savior!

If you are on the search for a tutor who is engaging, insightful, and passionate about their job, Aaron is the tutor for you. I’ve had Aaron as a tutor for both APUSH and the SAT reading portion. Aaron is like a walking, talking textbook (in the best way possible, of course) and is amazing at explaining concepts and connecting themes for APUSH. He also takes his time to score your practice FRQs and provides detailed, constructive feedback to really help you prepare and preform well on the exam. Aaron has his own tips and strategies for tackling the SAT multiple choice which have made a huge difference in my learning. But besides that, Aaron’s ability to make his lessons enjoyable and interactive is what really makes him stand out. I couldn’t have asked for a better tutor :)

Exceptional SAT tutor for students aiming for top scores

Helping an already high-performing student reach the highest SAT scores takes exceptional skill. The remaining gains come from the hardest questions, and often require bright, independent students to rethink habits they’re convinced already work. He excels at this. His targeted tips and strategies reflect a superb understanding of what it takes to pursue a perfect score. He makes difficult questions more manageable while helping students recognize where a different approach can make all the difference. What impresses me most is his commitment to his students. He combines expertise with patience and a clear investment in their success. I highly recommend him to families seeking a tutor who can challenge an advanced student and help them reach their full potential.

Highly Recommend Aaron for SAT Prep!

Aaron was incredible! With just a few weeks until the exam, he taught my daughter the exact strategy she needed to break down SAT English questions quickly and accurately. Thanks to his help, she reached her goal score. Highly recommend!

sat reading

We went over timing tricks along with understanding what specific part of a passage is the most important to look at and how to avoid personal opinions when picking an answer.

Very Professional & Skillful at Teaching

I like that he didn't just review mistakes that were made during a practice exam but was reviewing all the grammar that would be needed to know. It felt more foundational than teaching for the test.

Great tutor! Would recommend to anyone interested.

I have enjoyed working with Aaron immensely. He is a master at giving out good advice, strategies and tips that help you deal with SAT questions in the easiest possible manner. He is very interactive in his teaching and takes the effort to learn the exact problems faced by individual students and doesn’t use the same method to teach all of his students. He explains things in various ways depending upon the learning style of the individual student which has proved to be very useful for me. He is highly flexible in his scheduling and extremely patient and a wonderful teacher.
