Hello and good morrow fellow people! My name is Travis Aerts and I am currently in my 6th year of teaching 8th grade math and science. Before teaching, I had 2 years of substitute experience across grades K-12. I have tutored at my current school in the previous year along with additional outside tutoring over the summer. I have a bachelor's in mechanical engineering, an AA in Aircraft Maintenance and Commercial Piloting, and my master's degree in Elementary Education (K-8). My teaching methods focuses on what strategies best work for students. Especially in math, there are multiple ways to solve a problem, and I work with students to find those strategies to work to their advantage. I have spent all of my teaching career thus far in a classroom setting. My main experience has been Honors Algebra, Prealgebra, and the physical sciences at the 8th grade level but I am flexible to help in other areas as well. My mom made sure her son knew how to speak and write well and not just focus on the sciences. I hope that my current level of expertise can lend itself to helping others improve themselves and achieve their goals in their education journey.
