I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Illinois and a Master of Education from Emporia State University. With over a decade of teaching experience, I have spent the last ten years teaching a variety of high school math courses at Olympia High School, including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus. I currently offer Precalculus for college credit as a College in the High School course, which I’ve taught for the past six years. My solid academic background, coupled with years of classroom experience, gives me a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to effectively communicate complex mathematical concepts to students at various levels.

In my teaching career, I’ve worked with students ranging from 9th to 12th grade, both in traditional classroom settings and through one-on-one tutoring. Whether in a classroom environment or in a more personalized tutoring session, I emphasize addressing immediate needs while also laying a solid foundation for long-term success. I believe in fostering an understanding of mathematical principles, not just memorizing formulas. My approach to tutoring is tailored to each individual student, focusing on the areas where they need the most support while also reinforcing the structural understanding needed to excel in future topics.

I am available to tutor in public settings such as local coffee shops and libraries, as well as remotely through platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams. I enjoy the flexibility of offering tutoring in multiple formats, which allows me to reach students in a variety of contexts. My goal is to build both confidence and competence in my students, helping them overcome their challenges while providing the tools they need to succeed in future coursework. By combining my experience in the classroom with a patient, individualized approach to tutoring, I can help students not only improve their grades but also develop a lasting appreciation for mathematics.
