Test prep: I am a National Merit Scholar (my PSAT score paid for all of my private-university tuition). I can help you improve your score on the PSAT, SAT, ACT, GED, GRE, GMAT, and more. My GRE scores, back in the day, were 740 on the verbal exam and 780 (out of 800) on the math.

Spanish: I am an ATA Certified Translator for Spanish-to-English translations and also an ATA Certified Translator for English-to-Spanish translations. The passing rate for those exams is 12%. There are only about 65 people in the world who have both of these certifications. I also used to translate into Spanish for the White House Spanish web site for Obama's Executive Office of the President.

Math: I have the equivalent of a minor in math from courses taken at UW Seattle and UT Austin. I have over 30 years of experience tutoring math at all levels up to and including precalculus. Unlike some other tutors, if you don't understand the first way I explain something to you, I can typically find several other ways to explain it until it clicks for you.

I have a B.A. in Spanish (linguistics emphasis) from the University of Washington, Seattle. For over 20 years I have been a professional Spanish translator and interpreter (and for 30 years, a professional tutor). In 2008, I passed the American Translators Association exam (12% pas rate) to become an ATA Certified Translator for Spanish-to-English translations. In 2010, I passed the ATA exam to become an ATA Certified Translator for English-to-Spanish translations. There are fewer than 100 (only 70) translators in all of the United States with both of these certifications.
