I am a fluent Spanish speaker who has lived and traveled in Spanish speaking countries. I served as the director of a Spanish language school in Guatemala and have over 1000 hours of tutoring Spanish.
While stationed as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kazakhstan, I served as an ESL teacher to middle and high school students. I teach reading and writing using the Turabian method, which emphasizes making personal connections with the text. I am passionate about helping all students develop their skills as readers and writers. I enjoy tutoring in English, writing, reading, and history.
I have a BA in History and MA in Latin American Studies. Furthermore, I am a nationally competitive distance runner and enjoy a number of other outdoor sports, including backcountry skiing and mountaineering.
